Please be aware that the item you are bidding on or purchasing is a VINTAGE item. If this item is a watch, unless otherwise noted, it is keeping accurate time over a 2-4 hour time period. We specialize in watches that are 20-100 years old, and as such, these items are previously worn and the quality of the item WILL reflect that. Expect for a vintage timepiece to have blemishes...this is part of what gives these amazing pieces their charm. Further, unless a watch specifically says that it has been recently serviced, expect that at some point in time, this timepiece will need a professional servicing in order to run and keep excellent time This is also something that goes along with owning any mechanical watch If an extremely accurate, worry free experience is what you are seeking, we would recommend purchasing a new quartz watch. Very few, if any, vintage watches will keep as accurate time as a modern quartz watch.
We do our absolute best to take accurate photographs of our items and to show any blemishes.
Examples of common characteristics of a vintage timepiece are:
-imperfections on the crystal
-imperfections on case
-imperfections on the lugs
-unless stated that the strap is new, the leather is often quite old and may need replacing in the future
-metal bracelets may not include all of the links that the watch originally may have come with, but can be replaced with a bracelet or strap of your choosing
If the item is a piece of vintage jewelry, be aware that the item may have some minor blemishes such as:
-missing stones (view photos, we will NEVER photoshop in a missing stone or piece)
-minor scratches or discoloration
-fading of plating
-fading of paint
We do our best to take accurate photos and provide accurate descriptions. Please take the time to view our high resolution photos of the item, and please feel free to ask any questions you may have prior to placing your bid. We want this purchasing experience to be a pleasant and surprise free one. Vintage and antique items, unless "new old stock", have been around the block a time or two.
Thank you for your business! We hope to see you return in the future!

About Ingersoll...
Each Ingersoll watch was initially handcrafted until 1892 with the intervention of Henry Ford, Ingersoll succeeded in fabricating an automated production line for wristwatches and pocket watches. Also, a mail order catalog was created, and Ingersoll watches were available to the public and not just whosale to dealers.
In 1896, Ingersoll introduced a groundbreaking timepiece called the "Yankee" or the "Dollar Watch." The first watch to be priced at one dollar, the cheapest watch available at that time. Also, the watch was cheaply mass-produced by the company, and the materials used were sourced from stamped parts and without jewels so that the watch would be affordable to everyone. Quickly, the dollar watch developed a reputation for quality and precision and in the the middle of 1899, they were producing 8,000 of the Dollar watches per day. At the same time, Ingersoll commenced advertising to the public that 10,000 dealers carried their Dollar watch. In 1910, they were manufacturing 3.5 million dollar watches per year.
The great success, Ingersoll utilized an efficient system of distribution which ensured consistent availability and maintained an unvaried price in all their retail outlets. In over twenty years of production, nearly forty million dollar watches were sold. This made Ingersoll coin the popular phrase, "The watch that made the dollar famous!". Even, President Roosevelt was famously described as ‘the man from the country where Ingersoll watches are made’ during one of his hunting expedition to Africa. The company was very successful at this point.
In 1919, the company invented the first glow-in-the-dark pocket watch called the Radiolite which had a simple illumined dial. It was widespread during the First World War, and it was said to be used by tankers. This watch marked a great achievement in the history of watch making.
