The South African Mint celebrated the 50-year anniversary of the Krugerrand with the striking of the 2017 South African Silver Krugerrand. The new Silver Krugerrand marks the first-ever silver coin in the long-running Krugerrand collection.  This Silver Krugerrand with a 50 Year Privy Mark will make a great addition to any precious metals collection.
The 1 oz South African Silver Krugerrand Coins in this product listing have been certified SP70 by the NGC and encapsulated in a black core holder with an exclusive Krugerrand label.  Coins in this condition are considered perfect specimens, and feature full, original mint luster with no detracting flaws of any kind on the surface areas.
The First Releases designation indicates the coin was received for certification by the NGC within a set time-frame. To earn the FR label and designation, these coins had to arrive at the NGC or an approved third-party depository within 30 days of their release date from the South African Mint.
The obverse of the coin is the left-profile portrait of one of South Africa’s greatest political and military leaders. Stephanus Johannes Paulus Kruger, known better as Paul Kruger, led the Republic of South Africa against the British during Boer Wars and became third president of the free nation from 1883 to 1900.
The reverse includes the image of the Springbok antelope with the 50th anniversary privy mark. Both the antelope design and Kruger’s portrait on the modern Krugerrand coins were refined by Otto Schultz in 1984.
The coins in the pictures are the coins you will receive.  I want to be upfront.  There are some small white spots "milk spot" on some of the coins.  It is difficult to see them in the pictures.  In fact, it is difficult to see them at all.  The price has been adjusted accordingly.  I have seen many coins sold where the buyer complains about milk spots on coins that the seller did not disclose.  I want to avoid that.  With that said, even if you decide to bid on the coins and win, you will still have 14 days to contact me after you receive the coins if, for any reason, you want to return them. They must be in the same condition and packaging as they were when shipped.  Buyer is responsible for paying the shipping charges to send back to the seller.
If you are not familiar with milk spots, please read.  According to many experts, nobody is quite sure exactly what causes the spots.  The current consensus is that remnants of the solution used to wash the planchets, the round disks that are struck into coins, is left behind after being rinsed.  There is no known method of determining what coins will develop these white spots or when the spots will develop. Please search the web for more information.
These are beautiful coins and will be a great addition to your collection.
