    Description

For your consideration a great old San Jose style, "kissing birds" spade bit. The engraving strongly suggest it was made by the one of the Hernandez. Research suggests there were 5 Hernandez who made bits and spurs which were sold through various retailers such as Visalia, Main and Winchester, F.M. Stern and L.D. Stone. They were rarely marked. This is a great old California spade bit for your collection.
MAKER: Unmarked, but attributed to Hernandez.
APPROX AGE: Circa late 1800s to early 1900s.
SIZE: It has a 5" mouth piece. It is 7" long overall.
CONDITION: Good for its age, normal wear expected. Please look closely at the pictures as they are an important part of our description and are hereby incorporated into the description, specifically with regards to condition.
This is an awesome and collectible bit that would go perfect in your collection!
