I used to live in Maui, Hawaii, several years ago.  At the time, the Dept. of Defense was remodeling an aging Veteran's Cemetery, as geothermal changes in the earth had disturbed and shifted graves and the cemetery needed to be redesigned, restored and made secure.
Bronze memorials, plaques and grave vases were removed and stored.  Family members reclaimed their loved one's bronze items at the time of the completion of the project and they were reused.  Instead of selling the unclaimed bronze pieces for scrap, they were offered for sale, to our local community.  This is one of those revered, unclaimed artifacts.
It spells
UNITED STATES AIR FORCE
in raised, diamond-cut polished letters.  The background is solid bronze that is dark oxide stained.  The raised border is diamond-cut and polished.  The plaque measures 8" wide and it measures 5" tall.  It is 5/16" thick.  It has 4 screw holes (one in each corner) for mounting.  Solid bronze, the plaque weighs 3 pounds.  (Please see all pics.)
In age-appropriate, overall,
VERY GOOD
condition.  We estimate this plaque to be approx. 40-50 years old.
This would make an
EXCELLENT
keepsake for an AIR FORCE Veteran, to display on a mantle or bookcase, or to embellish an existing veteran's outdoor resting place.  Solid bronze and professionally created, the memorial is real and strong and enduring.  It has earned a place of reverence.
