Description
DESCRIPTION:This is an old "kissing birds" style spade horse bit attributed to Juan Francisco (J.F.) Echavarria. It features typical engraving identified as the style of Echavarria. This one is very old, likely being made about the 1880s to 1890s. It is in all original condition (missing 2 small conchos), but please note, it has been well-used. Most of his career, Juan was a bit and spur maker in the San Jose, CA. area. He supplied bits and spurs to various shops and saddleries, including L.D. Stone, Visalia, Main and Winchester and others.

Unmarked but attributed to Juan Francisco (J.F.) Echavarria (1847-1917).
APPROX AGE:
Circa 1880s - 90s.
SIZE: It has a 4-3/8 inch mouth piece.
CONDITION:
Poor for its age, wear expected.
