Wood 36 German Beer Bottle Box Crate.
This will be shipped UPS or picked up
in Archbald, Pennsylvania. Buyer must wait to
receive accurate invoice at the end of
auction to include insurance to their zip code.

Original pre-prohibition, ring loop hinged
hard wood
delivery/shipping box crate used
exclusively
by the Haberle Crystal Bottling
Department
of
Syracuse, New York. Circa 1892.
The original
wood
separator slats are in place
creating space
for thirty-six (36) beer bottles
to be safely
transported. One slat (as seen in
last photo) has
some loss to wood. The closing
latch mechanism is spring loaded.
The metal corners show their age and corrosion.
This is a delicate piece of Syracuse
beer brewing
and bottling history from the 19th century.
Both the inside and outside of the front
and rear boards are inked in Black:
"PROPERTY OF
HABERLE CRYSTAL
Bottling Department
Syracuse, N.Y."
The inside of front board, to the right
of closing mechanism is stamped
in Red:
HERCULES METAL CORNER CASE
PATENTED
MANUFACTURED BY

There is a circular seal stamped in Red
to the left
of the closing mechanism. I
have been unable to determine what it
reads.
