Listed here is a dip pen holder fitted with a massive #7 Leroy W Fairchild 14K gold nib. This is the type of a pen seen in period pieces focused on the turn of the century. Modern day calligraphers use dip pens as it is the preferred ink delivery method for producing controlled line variation. Good Luck!

The unbranded dip pen holder is in fantastic condition. The gold-fill is well preserved. No brassing that I can detect.
LEROY W. FAIRCHILD #7 14K GOLD NIB
This Fairchild #7 nib is in great condition.  The nib's imprints are mostly present. The imprint is light on the left half of the nib. The nib has a lot of good flex. It writes like an extra-fine without pressure. The nib is nice and smooth with optimal flow for vellum paper. I used it on 52 gsm Tomoe River paper with McCaffery's Penman's ink which is a favorite amongst calligraphers. I would recommend this ink over most India inks. It is easy to handle and performs well unlike regular fountain pen inks when used with dip pens.
RESTORATION SERVICES
This antique Leroy Fairchild #7 nib and its dip pen holder have been cleaned and tested for function (deployment, dipping, and writing). It is READY TO WRITE upon using an iron gall or another appropriately viscous ink.

(yes, only the best) has been sparingly applied to the surface to protect and preserve the gold-filled surfaces. Renaissance Wax is used by professional vintage pen restorers and other esteemed institutions such as the British Museum. It is great for protecting metals from oxidation and for protecting surfaces that often come into contact with hands.
