Description
This bridle is a most precious find. It is hand-marked with the symbol of the Rolling Log. There are some initials as well the meaning of which is a mystery to me; perhaps a ranch brand. The Rolling Log is a tribal symbol that reaches back centuries and is not limited to the U.S. I was told by a local Native American man that this bridle came from a tribal farm and that because of its age and markings that it is very valuable. Use of the Rolling Log in jewelry, rugs, blankets, etc. was suspended during World War II as per the U.S. government's request. The Rolling Log is used in ceremony and is beginning to show up again in Native American art. It can represent the four elements, the four directions, can signify well-being, happiness or good luck. This bridle would be an auspicious addition to anyone's collection. Thank you for your interest, and Happy Ebaying!
