    Description

    Antique Peter Straub & Sons St Mary's Pa Wooden Keg Beer Barrel.
    Pre-Prohibition.
    Small keg measuring just over 15" tall.
    I have read that Peter Struab placed a red band around his barrels to ensure their return.
    The band around this barrel appears to be either yellow or lighter wood color where the red paint once was.
    The last photo I found online shows Peter & sons standing with barrels on display.
    Even though in black and white, the bands appear to be a light color similar to the band on this keg.
    Barrel is stamped on both sides.
    Both smaller outer steel bands are missing.
    Fresh out of 50+ years of storage this keg is in original condition never being restored.
    A truly rare and unique item you don't often see if ever.
