    Description

    BAHAMAS 5 Pounds 1947, P-12b Higgs-Latreille-Burnside, A/2 Prefix Only, VF
It is possible that only 225,000 of these notes were issued, as they were the highest denomination note of the series.  A/2 prefix only for this variety.  A pretty KGVI type, with embossing still seen at back.
Interestingly, this example features a bank cancellation July 1, 1955.  When the new notes featuring Queen Elizabeth II were delivered beginning in 1953/54, these older notes were actively redeemed, as seen by the ink stamp and pencil notation.  Two small holes were made as well.
Many notes listed in “Buy it Now / Best Offer”, and occasionally in auction.
A wide range of new and old notes are on offer.
Shipping is combined, and invoices are sent for purchases with multiple items.
