    This auction is for an unusual - to say the least - previously owned bit.
    Engraved aluminum with a modified port. Modified by two hollow tubes attached (screwed through from top) to extend DOWN from the mouth piece.
    Reminds me of a walrus
    I have been emailed that this is for a coin operated horse, but I have a bit of a problem with that idea, as the bit is for an adult size horse - see the dimensions of the mouth and shank.  A coin operated horse bit would be pony size at the most.
    An other email stated this was a pen holder made by Crockett
    I have also been emailed with the following information that I feel could be more accurate:

    Here's my take on the bit. It may be a modification for a horse that tongues the bit on the shanks, a lot of race horses have their tongues tied with clothe to keep them from going over top the bit, maybe this is a modification for a western type bit for controlling the tongue.

    Adult size bit with long shanks - mouth measures a little under 5¼ inches.
    Top bridle ring down to bottom rein ring measures 8½ inches (straight measure, not along curve of shank)
    This bit shows mild to moderate scuffs,
    rubs and scratches
    Bit weighs 9.7 ounces - prior to packaging
    A magnet is not drawn to the bit or mouth pieces, but is drawn to the screws
    I have not tried to buff or clean this item in any way
