    Description

    Here is an early unique California spade bit that was obviously in a wreck at some point, but was well repaired years ago.There are no breaks on it, but it was probably bent up good at one point. It looks like the work of Frank Mayfield originally if you look at the custom bit clevises. I'll let you experts figure out the rest of the story. Anyway, it's a good bit now and strong. Look at the beauty of the repairs in the photos. The mouth is 4 7/8" wide and has an 7 3/4", long shank, and a 4 1/4" spade. A great bit anyway. Buyer pays shipping.
