Greg Darnall Engraved Aluminum Buster Welch Cutter Grazing Shank 3/8 Curb BitThis is a new "Buster Welch" style shank show bit made by
GREG DARNALL
with a 3/8 inch diameter sweet iron 5 inch wide medium port curb mouthpiece D1650.
The bit features beautifully engraved aluminum shanks with a silver plated concho on each side. The Buster Welch collection is inspired by the Legendary Buster Welch, and these bits allow the natural movement of the horse's head. The lightweight Aluminum shank provides authority when needed with a reduced angle
increases signal and slows the response from the rider's hand.
It can have a relatively quick signal with a tight curb or increased palate pressure with a loose curb chain.
The tall port is a traditional bit for light palate pressure and moderate pressure on the tongue and across the bars and is an excellent tool for developing control in the performance movement.
Inlaid copper bars in the sweet iron mouthpiece increase salivation and keep the mouth moist and sensitive.
The cold steel construction is designed to rust creating a pleasant sweet taste. The polished and engraved aluminum shanks measure 7-1/2 inches long with a 2-1/2 inch tall purchase for a 3 to 1 leverage ratio. The bit weighs 12 ounces so it is a very nice light bit for a light and responsive horse that prefers a lightweight bit. This bit features a swept back grazing style aluminum cheek with a 1-1/4 inch diameter engraved sterling silver plated concho. The maker's mark GD is located on the left shank near the bottom rein ring. This stunning, perfectly balanced bit will make a great addition to your show bit collection and will look great in any show ring setting.
