After my son became a US NAVY SEAL last year, I got fascinated with DIVER watches - I didn't realize the dangers at the time !!!
Before I realized that I had this 'addiction', I was well into 20+ divers - mostly Seiko iconic models like the SKX, Sumo, Samurai, etc. with a few other brands mixed in like Citizen, Rolex, Helm, Orient, TAG Heuer...
The Seiko Marine Master SBDX001 became my obsession and yet at over ,500, it was just NOT financially feasible at all - to satisfy my lust, I became interested in the idea of an homage...
Although VERY skeptical, I found a Heimdallr Marine Master SBDX001 homage with a beautiful Jubilee band and studied it closely - it LOOKED good - and so there was only one way to find out if it indeed WAS good - take the risk and plunk down the ca$h - so I did...
The first time I held that Heimdallr in my hand, I was ecstatic - and HOOKED - the look and feel, the craftsmanship - for me, it was >95% of the actual Seiko high-end model at a FRACTION of the cost...
'That's all folks' - the micro-brand of Heimdallr became real to me and off I went - now owning 12+ quality Heimdallr models, and the rest, as they say, is history...
Along the way of collecting DIVERS online, it wasn't all fun and games though - I got BURNED badly more than once:
- bought a NWOT watch except it had NO WARRANTY,
- bought a REFURBISHED model except found out months later that the movement had been swapped for a cheaper one,
- bought a 'SHARKEY' watch except not the real Heimdallr logo (solid shark is NOT Heimdallr),
- bought a 'GENUINE' watch except it was old stock/case back,
- bought a 'NEW' watch except it was actually used,
- bought an 'AUTHENTIC' watch except the pictures were not like the item I received and,
- many many LESSONS learned
No doubt many of you have had SIMILAR frustrating experiences - well these concerns have been totally and thoroughly eliminated now...
