The mouthpiece is sweet iron that will rust and promote a soft mouth.  The shanks are stainless steel.  This Don Hansen Argentine lifesaver bit would be a great bit for the horse that needs tongue pressure and curb pressure.
This is a well maintained pre owned Made in the USA "Donut", or "Life Saver" bit, maker marked "White" on the mouthpiece.  This bit is a sweet iron bit and has a light coat of surface rust without pitting that appears darker in the photos than in person.  The curved-back shank allows you to easily flex the horse's head laterally for correct circles and turns. Overall, a really good bit for a horse that needs to pay more attention.  This is the bit to use to really lighten up a horse that needs a reminder to pay attention to the bridle.

his is a genuine collector's bit and the left side of the mouthpiece is stamped with his maker's mark "WHITE" as shown in the photos.   The shanks measure 7-1/2 inches long with a 2-3/4 inch long pur
chase for a 2.73 to 1 leverage ratio.  The mouthpiece is 4-7/8 inches wide by 3/8 inch in diameter, and the copper wire wrapped "donut" is 1-1/2 inches in diameter.  The bit weighs 11.5 ounces so it is a very nice light bit for a horse that doesn't like to pack a lot of weight.  Don't miss out on the chance to add this great White bit to your training and show collection.
