I WAS LUCKY TO HAVE ATTENDED THE 1994 BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME BETWEEN THE ARKANSAS RAZORBACKS AND THE DUKE BLUE DEVILS. OUR RAZORBACKS WON 76-72 AND CORLISS WILLIAMSON OF THE HOGS WAS NAMED MVP.
I GOT THIS NEW HAT SIGNED BY KEN BILEY AND DAVOR RIMAC AFTER THE GAME AND IT HAS NEVER BEEN WORN. HERE IS SOME OF THE HISTORY ON THE GAME:
Duke's Grant Hill made a 3-pointer to tie the game at 70 with 1:30 left. After an Arkansas timeout, Scotty Thurman hit a 3-pointer over Antonio Lang as the 35-second shot clock expired, giving the Razorbacks a 73-70 lead with 50.7 seconds remaining. Chris Collins missed a 3 that would have tied the score. Clint McDaniel rebounded for the Hogs and was fouled with 28.4 seconds left. He made one of two free throws to put the Hogs up by four 74-70. Cory Beck rebounded a Collins miss and was fouled. Cory made one of two to put the Hogs up 75-70 with 17.2 seconds left. Cherokee Parks of Duke got an offensive rebound and scored on the putback to bring the score to 75-72 with 10.2 left. Clint was quickly fouled and sank one of two to seal the national championship for the Hogs.
