Louis Obert Brewing Co. opened in 1900 and closed in 1919 it was open for 19 years.
West of Forest Park Highlands, and not more than three miles away, was yet another early amusement park. West End Heights was at the south side of Oakland Avenue at the intersection of McCausland, Clayton and Oakland. This early amusement park was mainly built to handle the overflow crowds from the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair and the Highlands. The entrance faced Clayton. A carousel, ferris wheel, and of course, a scenic railway were among the mechanical attractions. A very large pavilion along Oakland Avenue, containing a restaurant and inside beer garden, was very popular. This early fun land also had an open-air theater and a lagoon that bordered McCausland Avenue. By 1912, most of the remains of West End Heights had been destroyed. Fire destroyed Coaster on April 21, 1913
