Description
This is an awesome clean, lightly used pre-owned Red River loose "Seven" shank tall US spooned port bit made in the USA.  The bit features a tall US port that measures 2-3/8 inches tall by 2 inches wide on a 5 inches wide by 1/2 inch diameter sweet iron mouthpiece.  The bit is in clean well maintained pre owned condition with light natural rusting of the sweet iron mouthpiece.  Harmless to horses, the rust has a sweet taste and promotes salivation which promotes lightness and quick response.   This is a very comfortable bit for the horse due to its ergonomic curvature design of the mouthpiece.  The unique curved bars of this Red River bit are ergonomically designed to accommodate the natural anatomy of the horse's mouth.
The tall port applies broad palate pressure, some tongue relief and moderate pressure across the bars.  It can have a relatively quick signal with a tight curb or increased palate pressure with a loose curb chain.  The cold steel construction is designed to rust creating a pleasant sweet taste.
This tall spoon port curb bit is for horses that require tongue relief and bar pressure.  The port is moderately high and is curved backwards which gives good tongue relief.  It is a very good curb bit that allows more control than lower port mouthpieces.
This bit features Seven style shanks which enable the rider to engage the curb faster than other shank designs.   This bit has 7-1/2 inch long cheeks with a 2 inch high purchase for a 3.75 to 1 leverage ratio.   This bit will make a great addition to your working bit collection.
