The mouthpiece is still available on Reinsman's website, but the cavalry style shanks are no longer manufactured.  The shank makes this bit a "Stage D" due to the leverage of the bit.
This traditional cavalry shank has been redesigned to better suit today's performance horse.  The heavy shank is a great choice for a horse that likes to feel the bit.
This large chain mouth piece is ideal for horses that life to feel the bit in their mouth.  A rotating ball provides the bit with a no-pinch design. This bit is a great choice for any level of rider or horse. Whether being used for speed events, this sweet iron large chain mouth bit provides flex and control.  Adjust the severity of this cavalry shank bit by tightening or loosening the curb strap.  The ball hinge prevents pinching at the lip and the chain mouthpiece offers tongue relief and slight palate pressure while allowing smoother action between the port and each shank.  The mouthpiece is designed to get more response out of the horse with less effort from the bars and port.  It provides more leverage, control, and stop.  It contours to the mouth for a natural fit, and offers great flexibility.  It works well on all types of horses.  The ball design eliminates the cheek connection from pinching the horse's lips and smooths the movement of the cheek piece for better feel and performance.
The mouthpiece measures 5 inches wide by 1/2 inch wide chain link.  This nice well balanced bit has cavalry shanks that measure 7.5 inches in length with a 3 inch long purchase for a 2.5 to 1 leverage ratio.
