    Description

    DESCRIPTION:
Presented for your consideration is a rare bit attributed as being made by the Tapia's. This old spade has been restored, the mouth has also been replaced. In spite of that, the bit is uniquely stylistic with curves and silver inlays and high domed, scalloped edge conchos. Jose Tapia didn't mark his work and Jesus Tapia marked very few of the pieces. However the quality of their work is easily recognized by knowledgeable collectors.
    MAKER:
Unmarked but attributed to Jose Tapia (1831-1902) or Jesus Tapia (1856-1931).
    APPROX AGE:
    Circa 1900.
SIZE: It has a 5 inch mouth piece.
    CONDITION:
    Has been restored.
Please look closely at the pictures as they are an important part of our description and are hereby incorporated into the description, specifically with regards to condition.
This is a collectible old bit that could also be used and it would go perfect in your collection!
