    Two early Ypsilanti Bottles from the Pre-Prohibition Period by the LZ Foerster  Brewery
    Foesrster Brewery was located on the former site of the
    Grove Brewery and Bottling Company
    was located at or around 414 S.
    Grove Street
    in
    Ypsilanti
    from around 1866 until 1943 The site is now contained on the far east side of the former Ford Motor factory just south of Spring Street
    Adam Foerster purchased the Grove Brewery and his son Louis Z Foerster (1863-1905) ran the  brewery along with his brothers for many years.The brewery went through through several name changes, including the following:
    1866 - H. Lee, H. Lee & Co.
    1870 - Adam Foerster & Brothers
    1875 -
    L.Z. Foerster & Co. Grove Brewery
    1884 -
    Louis Z. Foerster
    1893 - L.Z. Foerster Brewing Co.
    1914 -
    Hoch Brewing Co.
    (1916 - 1933 - Closed due to prohibition.)

    Liberty Brewing Co.
    1934 -
    Ypsilanti Brewing Co.

    The bottles are in good condition showing the normal wear for being over 100 years old
