    This U.S. Inspector-marked Model Cavalry Curb Horse Bit from the Late 1800s is a stunning piece of Western Americana history. This large bit is a true collectible, with provenance that unfortunately cannot be traced to a specific owner. Handmade in the United States, this bit is a testament to the craftsmanship of the past and a must-have for any collector of Western Americana or equestrian enthusiasts.     These could be Civil War-Era U.S. Cavalry Type "S" Curve Bit, ca. 1860s-1870s.

    Large Heavy Bit Inside opening is approximately  5" wide.  9 1/4" in length
    Brass US Rosettes on both sides.
    Marking on one side indicating C & W and opposite side has a light stamped (MF) or (Me) not sure hard to identified.
    Very Nice in VG+ Condition. Looks like they have been cleaned and lightly touched up with paint. Very Heavy and solid.
