    Beautiful OLD ~FANCY~ Traces of SILVER BIT
    This has not been messed with
    The stuff on the outside looks very black and that is why we think it is sterling mounted. I found no makers marks on it anywhere but appears to be hand forged.  At one time or another the mouth may have been changed as it is not nearly as well made as the other parts of the bit.
    There is some surface rust
    This could be over 100 years old
    The mouth is 5 5/8" wide
    The Shanks are 3.5" long
    The port is 1 7/8" tall
    If you wanted to get this old bit redone you would really have something special and just as it is it is rather special as well...real piece of equine history.
