Listed here is an uncommon early American fountain pen produced by Aikin Lambert. Aikin Lambert first came to prominence making gold nib and nib holders. This here pen takes after a lot of ebonite lever-fillers of the era, most notably the Waterman #52. They look eerily similar. This pen would appear to be frankenpen of sorts. The cap imprint reads Capitol Educator and the barrel imprint reads Capitol Cabinet. One could certainly cannibalize this pen to complete whichever model they are need of cap or barrel for. They are completely interchangeable. Good Luck!

AP and BARREL
The cap is in GOOD condition. Just some slight wear to the nickel=plated clip. It screws securely onto the barrel. The capitol educator imprint on the cap shows some wear. Both cap and barrel show some oxidation to the ebonite.
The barrel is in GOOD condition. The barrel imprint is entirely present and better preserved than the cap imprint. The chasing is pretty well preserved. The classy looking Aikin Lambert nickel-plated lever actuates smoothly.
AIKIN LAMBERT 14K GOLD NIB
This Aikin Lambert Capitol Cabinet fountain pen features its original A.L. Co 14K nib.  The nib's imprints are entirely present and well preserved. The nib has a touch of spring. It writes like a fine or extra-fine and is good for precise writing. The tines are perfectly aligned and the nib is oriented properly on the original ebonite feed. The nib is nice and smooth with optimal flow for vellum paper. I used it on 52 gsm Tomoe River paper with Montblanc JFK Navy Blue ink.
RESTORATION SERVICES
This antique Aikin Lambert Capitol Educator / Cabinet fountain pen has been cleaned and tested for function (filling and writing). It is READY TO WRITE upon filling with standard fountain pen ink.
A brand new latex ink sac
has been properly installed with a dry lubricant to improve performance and longevity.
Renaissance Wax
(yes, only the best) has been sparingly applied to the surface to protect and preserve the ebonite
as well as the nickel-plated surfaces
. Renaissance Wax is used by professional vintage pen restorers and other esteemed institutions such as the British Museum. It is great for protecting metals from oxidation and for protecting surfaces that often come into contact with hands.

write well. Using a loupe, premium micro-abrasives, and when necessary, specially made nib repair tools each nib is carefully adjusted to provide an enjoyable writing experience based on the particular characteristics of the nib.
