Listed here is the vintage Waterman Nurse's pen from the 1940s. This Nurse and Doctor pens came in a variety of designs. This would appear to be the wartime version of the pen given the shortened "military clip". Unlike other Nurse's pens this pen has three cap bands with a prominent middle band. This pen has no manufacturer's imprints on either the cap and barrel. This pen originally came in a set with a pencil and a thermometer. The celluloid has discolored which is especially common with these Nurse/Doctor pens. Good Luck!

AP and BARREL
This cap is in EXCELLENT condition with NO cracks, scratches, and/or chips. The gold-filled trim is pretty clean with wear (micro-scratches) commensurate with its age and usage. The cap screws securely onto the barrel threads. The cap shows slightly more celluloid discoloration due to the ebonite inner cap.
The barrel is in EXCELLENT condition. Smooth surfaces. The lever shows some wear but no major brassing. The lever actuates smoothly.
SEMI-FLEX WATERMAN 14K GOLD NIB
This Waterman Nurse's pen features its original 2A Canadian made 14K nib. It is nice and springy which offers some line variation. The tines are perfectly aligned and the nib is oriented properly on the ebonite feed. The nib is nice and smooth with optimal flow for vellum paper. I used it on 52 gsm Tomoe River paper with Montblanc JFK Navy Blue ink. This pen will make for a fantastic workhorse pen.
RESTORATION SERVICES
This vintage Waterman Nurse's fountain pen has been cleaned and tested for function (filling and writing). It is READY TO WRITE upon filling with standard fountain pen ink.
A NEW 100% Silicone ink sac
has been cut to the right length and installed with talcum powder (dry lubricant). This will prevent degradation to the vintage celluloid which is damaged by the sulfuric gases released by the ossification of aging latex ink sacs.

Beyond making sure that the pens I restore write, I like to make sure they
write well. Using a loupe, premium micro-abrasives, and when necessary, specially made nib repair tools each nib is carefully adjusted to provide an enjoyable writing experience based on the particular characteristics of the nib. This classic Waterman Nurse's pen is an absolute delight to write with.
The Waterman Nurse's fountain pen has been cleaned. The pen has been disassembled, thoroughly cleaned, and conservatively polished.
