    with Vignette of an Eagle in top center of certificate with Capitol Dome in background. Embossed corporate seal indicating the Company was incorporated in West Virginia in 1902.

    Western Pocahontas Coal and Lumber Company, dissolved in 1906
    later became Western Pocahontas Fuel Corporation and ultimately,
    Western Pocahontas Corporation, the coal and timber property holding
    company of The Chesapeake and Ohio Railway Company
    .
    At one time,
    WPC holdings when combined with holdings of the C & O and affiliates,
    made them corporately the largest private land holder in West Virginia.
    The Company was sold in 1988 to Quintana Minerals of Texas for approximately One Hundred Million Dollars.
