    Description

DESCRIPTION: For your consideration is this great old spade bit. This is just like one that would have been available in an old Keystone Catalog. This great bit is likely Hernandez engraving but it is unmarked (as most of them were). It has the original rein chains and this very bit is also featured on  P. 69 of the Dick
    Deller
    and
    Merrilee
Morrell book, One Man's Opinion About Spade Bits, where they state it is an old Keystone Catalog bit. Provenance: Ex. Richie Morgan Collection (there is an RM 22 etched inside the cheek) and the bit came to us directly from the Morgan family.
MAKER: Unmarked, but the engraving attributed to Hernandez.
APPROX AGE: Early part of the 1900s.
SIZE: It has a 4-1/2 inch mouth piece. It is 7 inches long overall.
CONDITION: Good for its age, normal wear and aging expected. Please look closely at the pictures as they are an important part of our description and are hereby incorporated into the description, specifically with regards to condition.
This is an awesome and collectible bit that would go perfect in your collection!
